Dec. 17, 2020 -
Congratulations to MeadowWood head professional Bob Scott for winning the 2020 Pacific Northwest Section PGA Deacon Palmer Award. The award bestows special recognition on a PGA Golf Professional who personally displays outstanding integrity, character and leadership, in the effort to overcome a major obstacle in their life. This individual is an unsung hero/heroine at their facility and in their community, who serve to inspire, empower and assist others, both inside and outside of the game.
After a misdiagnosis in 2013, Bob was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma of the brain in 2015 with a terminal prognosis. Bob's staff organized a fundraiser to defray medical expenses that over 350 people participated over 2 golf courses, bearing witness to the impact Bob had on Spokane's golfing public. After surgery and treatments, Bob returned to work in the spring of 2016 and was later rewarded by Spokane County with another 5-year management contract. Today, Bob is cancer free!
We in the Men's Club are lucky to have such a great pro guiding our beloved golf course.
We've all heard it and probably have been saying it, "Good riddance to 2020"!
It was quite a year, but we got through it. We were able to play golf most of the year and managed to get in most of our tournaments. The turnout was off the charts. The best it has been in my eight year tenure as tournament chairman.
I am looking forward to next season with high hopes. Even though it was a trying year, some good actually came from it. We had to modify how the tournaments were run, and from my perspective it was an improvement. So, we will continue next year where we left off. I do not anticipate any changes in how the courses are run until the COVID vaccine becomes available to everyone sometime later in 2021. But, as we all know too well, anything can happen!
I've updated the tournament schedule page, so check it out and mark your calendar. Keep checking back to the website for additional information in the next few months, and feel free to let me know if there is something you would like to see added.
I hope everyone is staying healthy and look forward to seeing you in 2021!
To improve data security and golfer privacy, golfers will need to create a digital profile to access the GHIN Mobile App and ghin.com beginning in January 2021.

Q: Will I be able to post a score for my child?
A:Yes, your club can assign you as a guardian for a child. When we launch the digital profile feature in January 2021, you will log in and see a “Change Golfer” link on the GHIN Mobile App and ghin.com. Here, you can change who you are viewing/posting scores for.
